Our clinic offers feeding evaluations and therapy for families seeking support and coaching regarding their child’s feeding. Our clinicians use feeding therapy to help:

Reduce picky eating and food refusal
Overcome food aversion and fear at mealtimes
Identify and treat oral-motor, oral-sensory, avoidant/restrictive, and medically-based feeding difficulties
Transition safely from tube to oral feeding
Transition safely from liquid/purees to solid foods
Increase acceptance of new foods and textures
Develop a positive relationship with food
Provide parents with strategies and techniques to help reduce stress at mealtimes and encourage food/liquid intak

Allison is a Speech-Language Pathologist who graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Prior to this, she completed a degree in Early Childhood Studies and worked as an Early Childhood Educator. Allison is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologist of Ontario (CASLPO) and the Speech-Language and Audiologists of Canada (SAC).

Allison has a strong medical background with a passion for working with clients with complex medical needs and neurodevelopmental differences affecting communication and swallowing. She has experience working with clients of all ages from infancy to end-of-life in hospital, home, community, and virtual settings. She has a special interest in feeding and swallowing disorders, and offers feeding therapy at Communication Kids.

Allison is a compassionate clinician who is dedicated to working collaboratively with families to create a nurturing environment for optimal learning. She is a fantastic listener who will take the time to get to know each client and incorporate individual interests, strengths and goals into therapy.
